Our friend Nigel has come to visit us all the way from England. S yesterday we went to some mountains near us called the Mourne Mountains in County Down.
It was a lovely sunny day, it was so warm that my humans even turned colour. There is a long stone wall in the mountains, which I think is so big you can see from space!
It's been built to keep the sheep out of the water apparently.
We climbed one of the mountains called Slieve Bernagh. It took us hours and we had to clamber over a lot of rocks. My humans were a bit slow, so I had to pull them along. We had a great day and at the end we were all very tired.
We also went over a bit called Hare's Gap, but my humans wouldn't let me chase any hares.
I haven't posted for a while, because we haven't been traveling so much recently, because we mostly live in Northern Ireland now. Today in Ireland is a big holiday, St. Patrick's Day. As we had some new friends visiting, Thi and Eric from San Diego, we decided to see the celebrations in Downpatrick. Apparently Saint Patrick is buried there. I didn't even know he was dead!
Anyway there were a lot of green people there and there was music and children and other doggies and some kind of parade. It was all pretty hectic.
Last weekend there was the Maritime Festival in Portaferry, Northern Ireland, where we are staying at the moment. There were lots of activities for 2 days. First we went on a foraging walk along the seacoast on Ballyhenry Island. I didn't like the seasweeds much though, unlike my humans.
In the afternoon we went to a Viking market.
There were Vikings fighting and doing archery.
One Viking got killed and they held a funeral for him. I was very sad about the dead Viking.
First they carried his body around the town and were shouting and lamenting.
They then brought him back to his ship and with fire arrows lit him up.
Finally in the evening we went to a concert of the Brigid O'Neill Trio
After weeks of storms we finally had some sunshine today, so we went for a walk. Here we stopped at the highest spot of Portaferry with a beautiful view of the Narrows, the entrance to Strangford Lough.
Me and my humans are staying in Northern Ireland at the moment and we are having some visitors over. So today, on New Year's Day we visited the Giant's Causeway which was built by the giant Finn MacCool as a bridge to Scotland to fight the Scottish giant. Apparently giants don't lie getting wet feet. The rain stayed away just long enough for us to see everything, but it was very cold.
I needed a rest after a long exhausting day. Happy New Year everybody!
