Phew, Exhausted from Traveling

On this trip we seem to be somewhere different every few days.  After Tran we went to a place called Melnik in the Southwest of Bulgaria.  It's town famous for wine and rocks.  We went wandering around the streets whenever it wasn't raining.

One day we visited Philip in nearby Sandanski, who has a lot of animals which he showed us.

There were many more, but I liked the other dogs and the pigs best.

Busy Time in Tran

We visited our friend Dancho near the town of Tran in Western Bulgaria near the border to Serbia.  We had a busy few days with him!

We visited a gorgeous gorge, The Erma River Gorge, which was just a few hundred metres from his house.  There was a very rickety bridge over the river.

We went finding mushrooms

We helped bring the hay in for the goats

We went to a yoghurt museum, where Mrs. Yoghurt showed us around.

And the best part was when I was allowed to herd the goats back home from their pasture.  That was fun!  I just barked at them and they went home.  Dancho's mother said, I was good goat herd.

Camping with lots of people in Bulgaria

When we arrived in Bulgaria we went to a camp on the shores of Lake Batak in the Rhodopi Mountains with lots of people and other dogs.  It was called a Permaculture Convergence, and I was getting quite confused sometimes because there were so many people and some dogs that were nasty to me.  But I had some friends as well and my bestest friends were Negrud from Romania and her human Adela.  We are going to visit them soon!

Sometimes, when my human and I would get up early for a walk, the camp was nice and quiet.

But most of the time it was pretty hectic...

Banja Luka

After Slovenia we stopped in a country called Bosnia-Herzegovina (I needed my human to help me spell this) to pick up a new friend called Voijin on our way to Bulgaria.  He showed us around his home town of Banja Luka.  I was so popular, especially with the women, that Voijin decided he should get a dog himself!  Apparently there are 7 female humans to every male human in this town.  My male human wanted to stay!

Slovenia in the Rain

Me and my humans were heading east again.  This time we stopped in a place called Laško in Slovenia.  Unfortunately it rained most of the time, so we didn't take many pictures.  But we went for a wee walk in the morning, when it wasn't too bad.  The town is mostly famous for it's beer, and just before we came they had a beer and flower festival.

Viking Invasion

Last weekend there was the Maritime Festival in Portaferry, Northern Ireland, where we are staying at the moment.  There were lots of activities for 2 days.  First we went on a foraging walk along the seacoast on Ballyhenry Island.  I didn't like the seasweeds much though, unlike my humans.
In the afternoon we went to a Viking market.

There were Vikings fighting and doing archery.
One Viking got killed and they held a funeral for him.  I was very sad about the dead Viking.
First they carried his body around the town and were shouting and lamenting.
They then brought him back to his ship and with fire arrows lit him up.

Finally in the evening we went to a concert of the Brigid O'Neill Trio
We had a lovely day and the sun was shining.
